Many of us have numerous accounts and even more passwords to remember. This becomes quite a hassle, especially when the administrator requires that users update their password every 3 months or so to further protect the account. After many failed attempts, the account is locked…what to do?
myIDkey offers a great solution – no matter if the perpetrator decodes your password, your account is safe because only you can have access to the account – through the swipe of your finger. The myID key is a USB drive with a micro password manager that enable users to unlock accounts by using their own personal security system: a thumb print. Include add-in is the voice-search ability, where users speak to the device via a built-in microphone button. It’s as simple as saying what password or code you’re looking for just as “passport number”. The biometrically secured USB device automatically deletes all the secure data if someone tries to gain access to the device multiple times, thereby reducing the risk when the device is lost or stolen.
Similarly, another device helps with personal security, but not the digital kind. The smartphone app Lockitron allows keyless entry to your door using your phone, and allows the user to lock their door from anywhere in the world. Not sure whether you locked your door before work? Not to worry. The app sends push notifications to your phone when your door is indeed unlocked and also when someone has locked/unlocked the door using their phone or their key. Going away for vacation but only have one set of keys? Lockitron also allows users to share their access with friends and family
