Bulletproof vests are mainly made out of kevlar, a material that provides protective properties. Unfortunately, a lack of breathability and profuse sweating tags along with impenetrability and safety. This is especially common in warm weather, which leads to discomfort. Empa has created a new bulletproof vest that provides the wearer air conditioning…how does this work?
There is an integrated cooling system called the Coolpad which is filled with water. The water is close to the wearer, which in turns cools the body while being evaporated. An additional miniature built-in fan blows air through a ‘soft and flexible fabric space behind the pad’ which blows cold air. When the coolpads are out of water, a portable filing station can be attached to refill the packs. New batteries are needed to recharge mini fans. These last around three to four hours.
This bullet proof is great paired with triple-level security pants. Being safe does not mean being unfashionable.
